Environment Minister Geoffrey Boot is urging people not to travel further than necessary to exercise.

It comes after full car parks were reported by DEFA officers at three plantations - Conrhenny, Archallagan and South Barrule - last week.

Speaking at a media briefing, Mr Boot said: ’This is a concern as an influx of people will make social distancing more difficult.

’We recognise the need to exercise but please explore the areas closer to home.

’Do not jump in your car to travel to a beauty spot that is several miles away.’
