A Douglas councillor has been jailed for 20 weeks after admitting drink-driving twice in two months.
Catherine Rose Turner, of Westminster Terrace, was also banned from driving for eight years by a magistrates’ court this afternoon.
Turner was arrested after driving on November 7 with a breathalyser test producing a reading of 98 - the legal limit is 35.
She was then arrested after driving again on December 29, while on bail for the first offence, this time failing a breathalyser test with a reading 97.
She was sentenced to eight weeks for the first offence and 12 for the second, to run consecutively.
Turner must also retake and pass her test at the end of her eight year ban.
