A special outdoor nativity play was held in Villiers Square, Douglas last week.

A stage was set up with a centrepiece of hay bales, and the performance, which starred children and adults, even included live animals.

Horses were ridden around the area in front of the stage, which also held a pen of sheep - and the audience enjoyed being able to meet and pose for pictures with the animals after the show.

The play, organised by Douglas Town Centre management and Reverend Alex Brown, was attended by an audience of more than 300 people.

Mr Brown said the show had a ’really great feel’ and its jokes were received with ’loads of laughter’.

Mary was played by Grace Harrison, and Joseph by Joel Harrop, and an audience volunteer, Elizabeth Sharman, played the Angel Gabriel - complete with giant wings. The Manx Operatic Society also featured and the Salvation Army Band provided music.
