Police in the south of the island have been informed of damage done to a primary school where drink bottles and cans were also discarded.
Arbory School’s garden, where different plans are grown for educationally purposes, was used by some as a drinking den.
A post by Arbory Commissioners said: ’Arbory School Garden is being maintained by a group of socially distanced volunteers. Crops and flowers are flourishing. Sadly, however, some people using the site for recreation, have abused the privilege.
’Empty bottles of alcohol have been found on site. A school garden is NOT a party location.’
As well as the empty bottles and cans, a pane of glass has been broken in the greenhouse.
The local authority added: ’The broken glass could have been an accident - a misplaced football shot rather than vandalism. If ever you are on the school property please report breakages firstly so they can be fixed and secondly to prevent wasting police time investigating a nonincident.
’Drinking on school grounds is not permitted and any individuals caught will be dealt with accordingly.’
