A DVD filmed on board the Manx Electric Railway gives tram and countryside lovers a unique view from inside a driver’s cabin.
David Alligan, from Suffolk, is selling the DVDs as part of his series of capturing journeys by train and tram across the British Isles.
David said: ’What I like abut it is the view you get from the driver’s seat.

’I have really loved the island since the first visit in 1972 with my parents. I felt so happy there, and safe. And an added bonus was the MER, when we went on it for the first time we sat in the toast rack and that just blew my mind away.’
Since then he has returned to the island several times, often staying at the former Majestic Hotel or the Groudle Glen Cottages, taking in the heritage transport along the way. David said he hasn’t returned to the island himself since his mother died in 2003, but he hopes to visit with his wife Lynn.
