Dylan Walton has become the second youngest person to receive a Scout County Commissioner’s commendation award on the Isle of Man.Â
Dylan is a founding member of 1st Rainbow Scout Group ’Ellan Vannin’, the island-based Scout group for young people with complexed additional needs and disabilities.
Island Scout Commissioner Guy Thompson presented him with his award recently saying he was impressed with his self-belief and determination in setting his own personal challenge.

Dylan had pioneering selective dorsal rhizotomy surgery in January 2020 to help him walk with a little more ease.
He climbed Snaefell assisted by his grandparents on Saturday, July 25, accompanied by some friends and family.Â
Members of 1st Rainbow Scout Group cheered Dylan on along the way, promising him his favourite chocolate cake to celebrate his achievement.Â
To date Dylan has raised over £28,000.

Celebrations continued with his promised chocolate cake, and the news that Dylan is to move up to Cubs - something he has been excited about for a while.Â
