EasyJet says it will not resume flights to the island until our border restrictions are lifted.
The budget airline was due to resume its Liverpool route today (September 4) but passengers booked on the flight have been notified that it has been cancelled.
EasyJet is still taking bookings - but its website now states that its schedule starts on October 25.
It has also launched a new route to Manchester, with three flights a week starting from October 26.
But an easyJet spokesman said: ’Due to the ongoing travel restrictions in place for flights to the Isle of Man, our flying programme to and from the island continues to be under review.
’We are currently planning on resuming flights when the restrictions lift and by which time we anticipate seeing sufficient levels of demand return.
’We continue to operate a rolling programme of cancellations as we consolidate our schedule with customer demand.’
The airline suspended flights as the lockdown tightened in March and the island’s borders effectively closed.
Since then, there have been false dawns as it appeared flights would be returning first in June, then July and then at the beginning on September.
But all proposed restart dates came and went without any orange planes returning to Manx skies.
EasyJet passengers who have been notified their flight has been cancelled can switch to another flight, request a voucher or apply for a refund.
