Actress, dancer and talented all-round Manx performer Alice Smith is continuing her studies at the International School of Screen Acting in London with support from Auxesia.

The Douglas management consultancy and business mentoring firm is helping Alice, who began the year-long course in October.

The highly sought after course and accommodation fees cost about £20,000 and Auxesia has pledged support for the second term of four along with pastoral support.

Alice, from Kirk Michael, said: ’I’m having such an enjoyable time at the International School of Screen Acting and have learnt so much within the first few months of the course.

’The training is unique and I feel like I’m growing in confidence and improving all the time. I am certainly embracing every moment of this fantastic opportunity.’

Alice has been involved with a number of productions in the island including Taylorian’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Dreamstar’s Aladdin.

Director Stuart Colligon said: ’Auxesia has always strived to support and nurture top local talent such as Alice and so we were really pleased that we could help with funding.

’Alice has a wealth of talent in all the performing disciplines and is another fine example of the quality of performers our island inspires.

’Just to even secure a place on the course is a massive achievement which has shown huge amounts of commitment, flair and determination to succeed, qualities we know will help her continue to pursue her dream.’
