The deadline is looming to apply for scholarships that could save parents thousands of pounds on fees for King William’s College.
The private school offers academic scholarships for lower fourth form (year seven, aged 11 in September) for those who are good at English and maths.
Fees can be cut by ’up to’ 20%.
The annual fees for fourth formers is £16,800.
Fees may also be topped up with means-tested bursaries.
There are also awards offering the same discount for pupils talented in drama, golf, music and sport.
The school says that the scholarships and awards are ’designed to reward excellence and celebrate exceptional talent in a particular field’.
To apply, parents must complete the application form on behalf of the candidate and return it to King William’s College on or before Friday, January 11.
All applicants must also be interviewed by the principal.
Each scholarship and award runs from September 1 of the year of entry until the scholar leaves the college, provided the pupil’s work and conduct continues to be of the ’highest standard’.
Assessments will take place on January 18 and 19, following which all candidates will be carefully considered before award recipients are announced.
