Civil servants who work for the Department of Education are to work in St John’s in the future.

The Department of Education, Sport and Culture (DESC) will move staff from Hamilton House in Peel Road, Douglas, which it currently rents, to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture’s headquarters in St John’s from October.

Since the start of the pandemic, more staff have worked from home, which has freed up desk spaces.

The move is in line with Treasury’s ’building consolidation strategy’, which aims to reduce the amount government pays for office space.
