Children from Saint Joseph’s Nursery and Preschool in Willaston are all set for their big move into primary school in September.
The 13 children celebrated their time at the nursery with their special graduation ceremony earlier this month.
Nursery manager Emily Cattle said: ’It was quite an emotional day saying good bye to our nursery children, who have been with us for two-and-a-half to three years.
’This year we went all out with the ceremony and had a performance with a certificate presentation.
’The children had learnt a song that one of our staff members had written and learnt a dance to a song called Dynamite. The children then sang the Manx anthem which the parents loved.’
She explained that she began the annual graduation ceremonies in 2014.
’Going to big school is a big thing and we want to show that.’
An after party was also held at the nursery on Friday (July 13).
Parents were presented with a scrapbook that the nursery had created for each child two years ago.
’The books have everything they have learnt over the years including how they’ve learnt to write their names,’ she added.
