There will be no changes made to school catchment areas this year, Education Minister Graham Cregeen has confirmed.
In a written reply to a Tynwald question from Daphne Caine (Garff), the minister confirmed a review of catchment areas took place in May.
But he added that last year’s changes to catchment areas had been ’effective in removing most of the pressures on schools, which had forecast large numbers of pupils coming into reception in September 2018’.
The changes made last year saw part of the catchment area for Peel Clothworkers’ Primary and Michael Primary being shared, while pupils in an area south of Peel Clothworkers’ catchment area were able to instead attend either St John’s Primary or Foxdale Primary.
Boundaries were redrawn between Henry Bloom Noble Primary and Scoill yn Jubilee, in Douglas, and between Onchan Primary and Ashley Hill Primary.
