Children at a Douglas nursery were able to welcome the arrival of spring when they received a visit from some lambs from a local farm.

Cranford Nursery in Woodbourne Road, was the venue for the visit of two lambs from Conhrenny Farm in Onchan.

Fiona Harcourt, from the nursery, said: ’Our curriculum this month is spring and growth.

’The children have been learning about growing and we thought it would be fun to experience first-hand touching and feeding baby lambs.

’They all learnt and understood that the lambs cannot eat food yet but have to drink milk, as they did when they were babies.

’The lambs and children skipped and played all morning in the sunshine in the nursery garden. It was great fun.’

’Having the lambs in nursery also coincided with the clocks going forward and the coming of spring.’
