Pupils from Ballakermeen High School saw how the legal system works when they went to Chester Crown Court.
The girls, aged 16 and 17, took on the roles of barrister, court officials, witness and jury member in the court in a competition with pupils from elsewhere.
Lawyers Alexander Armstrong of Callin Wild and Josh Quinn of M & P Legal helped the girls before they took part in the mock court proceedings.
The Ballakermeen pupils did not reach the finals but teachers said the experience was invaluable.
