An Onchan school has held an event focused on understanding emotional well-being.

Ashley Hill Primary School held the event for pupils, parents and teachers on Tuesday.

Head teacher Peter Lewis said: ’The event enabled all present to interact in a number of activities, including massage, yoga, karaoke and mindfulness artwork, showcasing many of the activities that have been on offer to the children and staff this year.

’Putting an event on such as this, will hopefully encourage pupils, staff and parents to share a positive understanding of emotional well-being. As a school we appreciate the significant impact these activities can have on learning and confidence both within and outside the classroom.

’Ashley Hill taking a positive step forward demonstrates how emotional and mental well-being have become more openly discussed issues, both in schools and the wider society.’
