Students from Ballakermeen High School have visited a Douglas nursing home to hand out Easter eggs to the residents.

The youngsters went to Springfield Grange Nursing Home at Stevenson Way in Farmhill in Douglas on Tuesday to give out the treats.

The school also made a donation of £200 to the Springfield Grange Nursing Home comfort fund which pays for small items, events and gifts over the course of the year for each resident.

A cheque was handed over after the money was raised by students as part of the school’s ongoing charitable efforts.

The nursing home is owned by Elder Healthcare (IOM) Limited and was opened in January 1997 by Elaine Elder who had many years’ experience in care of the elderly.
