Students at Ballakermeen High School learned from the best when they had a chance to try out their skateboarding skills.
Zach Williams and Liam McKee from Camp Rubicon, a professional skateboarding team from the UK, visited the school to put on an end of term coaching session during enrichment week.
Teacher and Isle of Man skateboarding co-ordinator Chris Buttery said: ’They visited us at Ballakermeen this time last year and it proved a huge success, catering for up to 30 students per session.
’This was helped by the Steam Packet who gave the professionals free passage as they could see the potential in what skateboarding has to offer now that it is an Olympic sport.’
Camp Rubicon travel around schools and other organisations across the British Isles offering tuition in using skateboards and scooters.
