More than 450 local young people showcased their colourful creativity to mark World Kindness Day.

To celebrate, Grant Thornton Isle of Man invited children to design a poster to show what kindness means to them.

The posters had to be A4 and include the words ’World Kindness Day 2021’ - but otherwise could be as creative and colourful as the artist wished.

The competition was judged by Grant Thornton associate director Lisa Lord and head of arts and culture for the Isle of Man government, Emma Callin.

Prizewinners received vouchers to spend at JAC Stores and an overall winner - Hugo Skelly from Marown School - was chosen to win an additional £100 worth of book vouchers for his school.

Lyndsay Brew, associate director at Grant Thornton, said: ’We were absolutely blown away with the fantastic response to our World Kindness Day competition.

’The children showcased what kindness meant to them in a really creative way and it was incredibly difficult for the judges to only select a small amount of prize winners - we would have loved to give everyone a prize.’
