Crowds of people have gathered to watch as the Port Erin Royal, on the town’s Upper Promenade, is demolished.

Manx Demolition Limited has been carrying out the work to flatten the site.

As the building has been demolished, the interior structure and some of its fittings have been revealed.

They include the safe and a door closed with the help of two cricket bats.

Dandara was granted approval in October 2016 for the hotel to be replaced with 34 flats. The Port Erin Royal has been disused since 2008.
