Four Isle of Man charities are set to benefit from a charity music show at the Gaiety Theatre this September.

‘Carry On Up Prospect Hill’ will take place on Thursday, September 3 and Friday, September 4, bringing together music, comedy and audience participation in a production inspired by the House of Keys election.

The show has been created in the spirit of good-natured fun and community, with local performers delivering well-known songs rewritten to reflect the highs and lows of election season.

Audiences can expect familiar tunes with an electoral twist, including ‘We're All Going on a Keys House Holiday’ and ‘Imagine There's No Tynwald’ reflecting the end of the current parliament, and ‘If I Were a Tynwald Man’ and ‘I Never Will Be an MHK, No More’ focusing on prospective candidates.

‘Please Vote for Me Ayre and Michael’ and ‘Gimme, Gimme, Gimme Your Votes in the Morning’ look to capture the campaign trail, while ‘Yesterday, All My Voters Seemed to Fade Away’ and ‘Tragedy’ marking defeat at the polls.

Meanwhile, ‘Thank You for the Yes Vote’ and ‘When You Walk, in Tynwald’ will look to celebrate election success.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be shared equally between Hospice Isle of Man, Forget Me Not, Naseem's Manx Brain Tumour Charity and Manx National Heritage, supporting the work they carry out across the island.
