A popular national wrestling show returned to the island – and crowds flocked to the Villa Marina to watch the action unfold.

Megaslam Wrestling put-on more than 300 live events each year across the British Isles and brought their own brand of hard-hitting entertainment back to Douglas for a two-hour family spectacle - check out our gallery from the show by clicking the image in the top right hand corner.

Two teams of wrestlers battled it out as a packed audience cheered their favourite sides on.

And it was a special homecoming bout for Marcus of Man, who is thought to be the only Manx professional wrestler currently plying his trade between the ropes.

Organisers said they look forward to returning to the island every year – and 2023 was no different.

Brad Taylor, owner of Megaslam, said: ‘It is a genuine pleasure to visit the island each year and one of our favourite trips of the year.

‘The general Manx public are all incredibly welcoming, the staff at the Villa are great to work with and it is one of the loudest crowds we get on our tour.

‘This year the event went very well and as it has been since 2015 was very well attended, pretty much selling out the ‘lower bowl’ of the Villa Marina.

‘We have received excellent feedback on our Facebook page.

‘We’ll be back next year with another high quality show and may have a surprise in store for the Isle of Man’s Megaslam fans.’
