The Diocese of Sodor and Man’s environmental adviser Dr Henry Uniacke will be giving a talk at the Anglican Church Hall in St John’s later this month.
’Hovering over the face of the waters: Science, faith and the environmental movement’ will discuss green issues, the relevance of COP26 and the relationship between science and faith.
As part of his role, Dr Uniacke is helping prepare church buildings for the Church of England’s pledge to be carbon neutral by 2030.
He has a background in both solar energy and teaching but, since living in the island, he has worked with local artists and on the development of the cathedral gardens in Peel before taking up his current post. The talk, which takes place on Monday, November 22, at 7.30pm, is part of the cathedral’s Little Green Pilgrimage project.
