Dr John C Taylor opened his home at Arragon Mooar in Santon for ’The Excitement of Time’ - an evening reception to raise funds for the charity, Bridge the Gap.

Guests enjoyed champagne and canapésfollowed by a talk by Dr Taylor who shared memories and experiences from his varied and fascinating life.

There was also the opportunity for guests to hear more about the work of BtG, which includes raising funds to finance the provision of a hospital-based youth worker to be based at Noble’s Hospital.

The charity is going to create an age-appropriate chill out facility for teenage patients who are receiving medical treatment at Noble’s.

Currently, when a teenager becomes 16 years of age, they are automatically transferred from paediatric to adult care services, which the charity believes can be a very traumatic transition for young people, particularly at a time in their life when they are already vulnerable through illness. #

The sponsors for the evening were Appleby Charitable Foundation, Callin Wild, Callin Wild Consulting Limited, Estera Trust (Isle of Man) Limited and Trevor Hemmings.
