With half-term upon us, a series of family fun events have been organised next week to mark Hop-tu-Naa.
From spooky stories and cake decorating to drama and clay modelling workshops, youngsters of all ages are being invited to drop into the Family Library on Westmoreland Road in Douglas (close to Henry Bloom Noble School) to participate in the fun and games.
It will also host a fundraising fancy dress Hop-tu Naa ’Freak Out’ Disco next Wednesday (October 30) from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, arranged alongside the Friends of the Family Library.
You can call 640650 or pop into the Family Library to book your place.
Visitors will also be asked if they wish to participate in ’Our Big Draw’ by creating sea creature doodles in an initiative exploring the benefits of being actively creative to make positive change and improve wellbeing.
Managing director Laura Jones said: ’It is going to be a fun-filled week and there’ll be a range of activities throughout each day so we are looking forward to a range of events and, of course, seeing plenty of fancy dress on Wednesday evening.’
Next Saturday (November 2) the library will be home to a series of super models - not just any models but Lego models built by island residents.
As well as official Lego kits, there’ll be Manx-themed creations built from the popular toy bricks and it should be quite a spectacle with some truly wonderful creations on display from 10.30am until 4pm.
