Portraits of island families are giving a snapshot of home life during the pandemic.

Two island entrepreneurs are making the best of a difficult situation as Covid-19 continues to hit the community and economy by creating ’doortraits’ of families.

Brand and marketing enthusiast Lisa Krause and graphic designer and photographer Lisa Holdsworth created the project after their businesses were affected by the current situation.

The idea formed after Mrs Krause decided to launch an online store called ’Republico’, which led to a discussion on lockdown life. Soon afterwards their photography service was initiated with families having their photos taken outside of their doors - a trend seen across the globe.

’We started out thinking that all the portraits would be fairly similar in composition, but have since discovered that each family has its own unique story to tell,’ said Mrs Krause.

Mrs Holdsworth said: ’Some look tired yet optimistic, others well-rested and radiant. Every single family shines a different light on life under lockdown, which is what makes these portraits so interesting.’

Shoots are £30 with £3 being donated to the Manx Solidarity Fund. Contact [email protected] with ’Front Door Portrait’ in the subject line while including your name, telephone number and home address.
