One of the island’s longest running choirs will hold a seasonal performance in Douglas this weekend.

The Manx Festive Chorus will celebrate Easter by performing their version of the Crucifixion, by the English composer John Stainer, at St Matthew’s church, on Sunday, April 14, from 3pm.

The choir will be joined by the guest soloists, bass singer Nathan Smith and tenor Nicholas Roberts.

John Riley will provide accompaniment on the organ.

The Manx Festive Chorus features 50 local singers, and was formed in 1968 by John Bethell, who still leads and conducts the choir today.

Tickets are £10, available on the door.
