They were called out to a property in Hilary Road, Douglas.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the smoke-logged property and extinguished the fire using hose reel equipment.
The occupant suffered slight smoke inhalation and received precautionary treatment from ambulance service staff.
