Firefighters dealt with a hedge blaze that was at risk of spreading to adjoining fields and crops.
The alert was raised at 4.10pm yesterday (Friday) in the area of Bollyn Road, Kirk Michael.
A spokesman said that on arrival crews discovered a deep seated fire on either side of a public right of way path, measuring approximately 150 metres in length, which was at risk of spreading to adjoining fields and crops.
The fire was quickly contained and areas of hedgerow were cut back to enable access to the more deep seated areas.
One major pumping appliance and one 6x6 off-road vehicle from Kirk Michael Station were used in the incident.
Appliances returned to station by 7.30pm.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
