A family has celebrated reaching five generations after welcoming the newest addition to their clan.

The five generations, which span from 90-year-old Margaret Johnstone to one-month-old Florence Fletcher of Foxdale, made the most of each others’ company at Christmas while Margaret was visiting from Scotland.

A photograph was taken of the great-great-gran from Dunipace alongside great-nana Moira Hall, a keen 69-year-old marathon and fell runner from Peel, nan Donna Quirk, aged 43 of Port Erin, mum Toni, aged 21 of Foxdale, and her newborn daughter Florence to mark the occasion.

Donna said having the photo together was lovely.

’As soon as my gran was able to come over we thought we’ve got to get a photo. Reaching five generations of family just doesn’t happen very often,’ she said. She added she’s only ever personally known one other family to have reached the milestone.

’We’re all firstborn children too. Florence was born on December 7 and is Toni’s first child.

’There are boys in the family, but all the first born are girls,’ she said.
