Flights from the Isle of Man to Dublin from March next year.

It follows the announcement that the route from the Isle of Man to Dublin by Emerald Airlines was to be re-established in January 2023.

An Emerald Airlines spokesperson said: ’With Emerald Airlines being the only airline offering these services to Ireland, we hope to see a high uptake with this route.

’Travellers from Isle of Man can benefit from six weekly flights to Dublin, with fares from £39.99 on-sale now at aerlingus.com.’

With the collapse of Stobart Air, who had previously operated the Isle of Man to Dublin route before the pandemic, there was worry about what would happen to the route.

Stobart Air ceased operations after a takeover by Ettyl, a Manx firm, fell through on June 11.

There will be over 340 flights per week across 11 routes by Aer Lingus Regional and these will be operated under a franchise agreement by Emerald Airlines.

Aer Lingus recently announced a schedule for summer 2022, which reflected the airline’s goal to ’build to pre-pandemic levels of flying’. It anticipates ’continued momentum in customer demand’, according to a statement.

Lynne Mebleton, chief executive officer of Aer Lingus, said: ’It has been a pleasure to work with the team at Emerald Airlines to accelerate this partnership and start operations 10 months ahead of the original schedule.

’We are all looking forward to welcoming our customers onboard Aer Lingus Regional services, operated by Emerald Airlines.’

The airline is different to the Liverpool-based Emerald Airways, which ceased operations in 2006.
