The former headteacher of Queen Elizabeth II High School, Henry (Harry) Galbraith, has died aged 83.
His funeral took place on Tuesday.
Mr Galbraith, who lived in Peel, became the acting head of QEII in 1984 before he was given the permanent role in the following year. Before that, he was the deputy head of a school in England after teaching for several years.
He was married to Dorothy (Dot) and had two children, Meriel and Andrew, and two grandchildren, Ethan and Rebecca.
