Former MHK and radio presenter Roger Watterson has died.
Mr Watterson was elected to the House of Keys in 1976 for the Middle constituency, which at that time included Onchan.
His political career foundered after he lost his seat in 1981. He subsequently stood unsuccessfully for Douglas West in 1982 and Douglas South in 1986.
In the 1970s he ran a typesetting company and later a printing business.
Mr Watterson presented Manx Radio’s Sunday Opinion from 1992 and stood down earlier this year.
He was involved in Manx Radio’s election coverage for a number of years, alongside presenting the Sunday Mannin Line.
On its Facebook page, Manx Radio posted a statement that said: ’Many people have said his contribution to our heavyweight political programmes has been enormous - and he’ll be sorely missed.
’All of us here at Manx Radio send our thoughts and sincere condolences to Roger’s family and friends.’
