Children can enjoy fairground rides in Douglas for free this week.
The entertainment is being provided from 11am to 4pm each day from today (Tuesday) to Saturday, February 26.
It takes place at Villiers Square, the area of land at the end of Regent Street adjacent to the promenade
Douglas town centre manager Oliver Cheshire said: ’Once again we’re very grateful to the Tevir Group for making Villiers Square available and for the support of the Domestic Event Fund, which is run by the Department of Enterprise.
’This is a great example of a partnership across the public and private sectors and we look forward to welcoming families and young people from across the island to enjoy the free fairground rides.
’At the same time, we hope as well as enjoying the "five days of fun" initiative, locals take some time to go into the main shopping centre and support our many valued retailers and local businesses.’
Designed for local authorities and businesses in towns and villages across the island, the Domestic Event Fund supports and encourages organisations to put on a range of events that provide a significant boost to economic activity.
