The Lightning Seeds show at the Villa Marina on May 16 has been cancelled following the Covid-19 crisis.

Tiskel Promotion said: 'We are not in a position to be able to reschedule the show presently and so feel the fairest option is to get refunds back to customers.'

Refunds will be processed in full as soon as possible. If you purchased tickets online you will be refunded automatically and will be in your account within 3-5 business days.

If you paid by card over the phone, at the Villa Marina or at the Welcome Centre, or if you made a cash purchase at either outlet, a member of the VMGT box office team will attempt to contact you

to process a full refund. If you paid in person and are not contacted by a member of box office team by March 27, please call 600555 to arrange your refund.

Triskel Promotions said it apologises for any inconvenience but hopes it is understood these are exceptional circumstances.

The Easter Festival of Plays has also been cancelled.

Originally scheduled to take place from Saturday to Friday, April 11 to 17, the organisers, The Manx Amateur Drama Federation, have been left with no choice but to cancel, following the government’s measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

A statement released by chairman Michael Lees said: ’We wish to thank all our sponsors for their support and especially our audiences.

’Further announcements regarding ticket sales will be forthcoming in the next few days.’

Also cancelled this week is a story-telling evening, tonight (Thursday) at St Catherine’s hall, Port Erin, which was being held to mark World Book Day.

Blues guitarist John Gregory has been forced to postpone his first ’AcousticMann’ concert, which was due to take place in Laxey during April.

He said he plans to try to reschedule the event for later this year.

A charity concert of Beatles music performed by local artists, due to take place at the Peel Centenary Centre, on Saturday, May 9, has also been postponed.

Organiser Dave McLean hopes to reschedule later this year.
