Singing star Gary Barlow has hailed his ’incredible’ fans after tickets for his forthcoming concert tour, including two nights in the island, were sold out.
Barlow will be bringing his solo tour to the Villa Marina’s Royal Hall on May 28 and 29.
In a message to his four-and-a-half million followers on Twitter he said:’Thank you everyone, this is incredible !!! See you on the road xx #gbsolo2018
Island fans have praised the Villa Marina and its staff.
One Barlow enthusiast wrote on the Villa’s Facebook page:’As others have commented FULL MARKS to Villa staff: gates opened way before 8am schedule: doors to booking hall opened early for warm & dry queuing; hot drinks served to the many hopefuls. Very surprised that first 4 clients were male whose anonymity will be respected!! Only 220 days to go.!!!’
Another commented: Great to see such popular events at the Villa Gaiety. I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get tickets and can’t wait to see Gary on the island.’
And another said ’It just shows that the Isle of Man can attract quality acts, let’s hope they attract more top acts,’
But there were also reports of people putting tickets up for resale at inflated prices online.
One person on Facebook said:’There really should be rules in place for people buying to sell on for extortionate prices.’
