With conkers flying left, right and centre, Braaid Hall was no place for the faint-hearted.
Saturday saw the small village hall packed with people doing battle to see who will be crowned the Manx conker champion for 2020.
Under the careful eye of time-keeper Paul Taylor, competitors lined up in their respective age groups to pair off and attempt to smash the conker of their opponent and be the last one left.
The autumnal knock-out competition is an eagerly-anticipated event in the island’s rural calendar and it never fails to draw in a large crowd of competitors.
Each duel lasts for around five minutes, with each tie going to a sudden death ’strike-off’ if both conkers are intact at the end of the round.
This year saw Georgia Halsall, who took part along with the rest of her family, walk away with the coveted trophy and the title of the Manx Conker Champion.
