The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation (RCLCF) charity golf day will take place on Friday, July 19.
The event will be held at Douglas Golf Club, starting with bacon baps at 11am and a 12pm shotgun start.
Tickets are £180 per team of four, which is discounted to £120 for members of Douglas Golf Club.
Following the competition there will be a buffet, prize presentation and charity raffle from 5pm, with a prize pool totaling £1,000.
The charity was established in the Isle of Man in 1991 by thoracic surgeon Professor Ray Donnelly, originally as the ’Lung Cancer Fund’ and later renamed the ’Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation’.
The charity is involved in all areas of support for lung cancer patients and their families.
Having recently registered in the Isle of Man, the money raised at this event shall be used to benefit lung cancer patients and their families on the island, and go toward research to help combat the disease.
It is organised and sponsored by accountancy firm Grant Thornton and Pringle Law.
Dennis McGurgan, chairman of Grant Thornton, said: ’My wife Pamela Pringle, of Pringle Law, and I are proud to be jointly sponsoring this golf day in support of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Our dear friend Heather Christian, who has never smoked, has stage 4 lung cancer and we were keen to organise an event for this charity which is supporting her.
’We want as many people as possible to support our event so that we can ensure that the inaugural event for this newly registered Isle of Man charity is a great success.’
