Grace Hibbert has won a £15,000 Mini Cooper in a prize draw organised by Hansard International to raise funds for The Children’s Centre.

The draw was promoted by Isle of Man Newspapers and 3FM.

Grace said she was absolutely delighted: ’Winning the car was so unexpected as I never thought I would have the winning ticket. Entering the raffle was simply a great way of raising a lot of money for The Children’s Centre which is such a worthwhile cause.’

The prize draw raised a total of £27,500 for The Children’s Centre’s charitable services for children, young people and families aand was organised as the highlight of a year of celebrations to mark Hansard International’s 30th anniversary.

A total of 1,100 tickets were sold and the draw was made on October 6 at The Children’s Centre’s HQ in Douglas.

Hansard International chief executive Gordon Marr said: ’We wanted to do something extra special to celebrate this significant milestone in our history, our record of innovation in the financial sector, and our reputation as a stalwart of the island’s financial services industry.

’As a company which is proud to be based in the Isle of Man we particularly wanted to do something which would have a lasting legacy in the local community - and because The Children’s Centre offers support to all the island’s children and young people, we decided to support their fantastic work.’

Fiona Dawson, chief executive of The Children’s Centre, said the donation would ’provide invaluable support for our wide range of charitable services’. She thanked Hansard International for organising the competition, Buchanan BMW & Mini, 3FM and Isle of Man Newspapers for their support and everyone who bought tickets.’
