The Millennium Bridge, which links Douglas’s north and south quay, will close for up to three nights of overnight maintenance.
An order to close the road over the Millennium Bridge has been granted between 9pm and 6am from Tuesday February 25 to Thursday, 27.
This is to allow essential maintenance work to the flap gate.
The Department of Infrastructure said: ’It is hoped that the work will be successfully completed well inside these time parameters. The bridge will be reopened for use as soon as the work is complete.’
The bridge was previously closed to road and vessel traffic at various times between August and October for various reasons including work to the flap gates. It also closed overnight in November for emergency repairs to its operating system.
