The Manx Breast Unit has been officially opened by the Lieutenant Governor.

Sir Richard Gozney unveiled two plaques to commemorate the official opening - and the role played by the public and the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group in fund-raising and building the project.

Also present were Chief Minister Howard Quayle, Health and Social Care Minister Kate Beecroft and Julie Stokes, chairman of the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group.

Construction of the £1.5m unit began in October 2014.

It opened its doors on February 1 last year after being totally funded by the generosity of the Manx people, with the help of the Eric and Marion Scott Trust and the Scheinberg family.
