Fourteen adjustable beds worth £10,000 in total have been welcomed by staff in the children’s ward at Noble’s Hospital.

Nine-year-old Chloe Rollitt of Douglas raised £12,780 for the beds.

The glide-away beds will accommodate parents staying overnight at the hospital.

The remainder of the money she raised has bought new toys and games for their young patients.

Chloe, who suffers from cerebral palsy and a form of epilepsy, won UK recognition when she was chosen to be part of the Superhero Tri in August. She raised the money through sponsorship for the event.

The Superhero Tri is one of the main events in the Superhero Series, which offers sports challenges for people with disabilities.

The 2019 series was filmed by Channel 4 and Chloe was interviewed by sports presenter Clare Balding when she was chosen to partner Paralympic gold medallists Menna Fitzpatrick and Jen Kehoe in the Tri event.

Staff at the hospital organised a special event to mark the donation and celebrate Chloe’s achievement, thanking her family for all their hard work. Chloe’s parents Jo and Duncan and Health Minister David Ashford MHK attended.
