The interim chief executive officer of the Department of Health and Social Care has left the job.

Kathryn Magson took up the role in 2020 to oversee the transition to Manx Care, which now runs day-to-day health services.

She had led the NHS Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group since 2017, and took over the role from Angela Murray, who became the department’s first chief operating officer.

The DHSC was £8m in the red at the time and said she would guide the department while a programme to transform the island’s health and care services progressed.

This was all before the pandemic took hold around the world.

Ms Magson has left the role after completing her two-year contract, with the government confirming she has now taken up a post in the UK.

A job advert for her replacement is open until the end of this week, with a salary between £89,585 to £111,583 a year, and a £10,000 relocation package on offer.
