Dr Rachel Glover, one of the island’s leading scientists in the Covid-19 testing lab has announced she has resigned from her position.
She announced her departure in a tweet which came after public disagreements with Chief Minister Howard Quayle and Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford.
One of these disagreements included whether or not she was an employee of DHSC, with Mr Ashford tweeting: ’You are employed as contract bank staff you are not an employee of DHSC.’
In response, Dr Glover said: ’Well, with all due respect Minister, I do hope the bank doctors, nurses, HCAs and other associated professionals in the DHSC who tend to prop up services enjoy hearing as much as I did that they’re not employees.’
Dr Glover, who is also the chief scientific officer at Taxa Genomics Ltd, has not specified the reasons behind her departure at this stage.
