The family of a cancer patient from Governor’s Hill are hoping to fund revolutionary treatment for him that’s not available in the British Isles.
Stuart Pritchard was diagnosed with kidney cancer in May 2015 and has not been able to continue his job as an electrician since then.
Now his family wants to raise £15,000 for treatments available in Holland and Germany to try to alleviate his condition.
Angela Hart, a family friend said: ’We have learned of a clinic in Germany that has a much more up-to-date care plan system and people have had very positive results there.
’Stuart is only 48 now and he has three children. He’s been fighting it like a trooper and he’s currently being cared for under the umbrella of Christies.
’The clinics where they hope to get treatment have had some phenomenal results.
’So far they have organised a first consultation and hope they can go over soon. There is a lot of hope with this clinic in Germany and we have seen case studies of people who had weeks to live who have benefited from it.’
To try to raise the money needed, Angela, along with Stuart’s wife, Pauline and three children, Josh, 17, Lily, 12 and Sienna, 11, have organised a Gofundme campaign on the web so well wishers can donate money to help.
So far they have raised £2,900 of their £15,000 goal.
’There is a range of complementary therapies available too both in Holland and currently in the Isle of Man which they hope will be of some help,’ Angela said.
The clinic in Germany, called the Hallwang Clinic, offers combination immunotherapy, which, Angela said, has produced some excellent results but is not available in the UK.
’This is not only for if his current treatment fails but also to get him some complimentary treatments that can help alleviate some of the pain and side effects Stuart experiences from the treatment.
’This includes oxygen therapy and various cleansing and healing treatments. Alternative therapies in Holland to include auror scalar technology (regenerating body cells using electromagnetic waves, according to the Auror Scalar Technology website) will also be used to compliment existing treatment,’ she said.
’This has just been a devastating blow for the family and raising money for more treatment is so important it would mean the world to them.’
