The government has said people should allow more time for online orders of lateral flow tests to arrive.

In a statement, it said: ‘There is currently a very high demand for Lateral Flow Devices.

‘Manx Independent Carriers are working hard to meet a steep rise in online orders - so please allow a couple of extra days before chasing. LFD test kits will also be made available at the ports for arriving passengers.’

This comes after the government announced new changes following the emergence of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in the UK.

There is now a requirement for those arriving to the island from the Common Travel Area (UK and Channel Islands) to take a lateral flow test.
