The number of active cases of Covid-19 in the island now stands at 2,529, according to official government statistics.
Of those 2,270 were from positive lateral flow tests and 252 from PCR tests.
Seven days ago, on Boxing Day, the total was 1,020.
The jump in figures is likely to be down to the spread of the more infectious variant of the virus, Omicron.
While far more people are now positive, there doesn’t appear to have been a knock-on effect at the hospital.
The number of people in hospital remains at seven, with none in the intensive care unit.
On Sunday last week (Boxing Day) the hospital figures were the same.
