One new Covid death has been confirmed and four more cases identified.

Health Minister David Ashford, giving an update this afternoon, said the total number of confirmed cases has risen by four to 325.

He also announced there had been a Covid-related death in the hospital.

Mr Ashford said this ’struck at the very heart of our close community, leaving friends and family behind’.

A total of 3,401 tests have been carried out, with results back on 3,359, leaving 42 outstanding.

There has been a total of 17 deaths in the community and six people have died in hospital.The latest death in hospital is not linked to the Abbotswood care home, the Health Minister confirmed.Mr Ashford said one of the four new cases may have a link to Abbotswood and none was linked to the sectors which reopened for business on April 24.
