The Isle of Man Cancer Services User Forum (CSUF) will be holding its next Meet the Consultant Evening on Monday.
The Forum was formed in 2003 by a group of individuals whose lives had been affected by cancer, to represent the voice of anyone affected by the disease. As part of this it regularly offers the chance for patients and family members to come along to an evening event where they can chat to a consultant and ask questions on a friendly and informal basis.
The Forum’s deputy chairperson, Julie Stokes, said: ’We are so pleased to be welcoming for the first time Dr Sudheer Alapati, a consultant respiratory physician whose main interests are lung cancer and COPD amongst the other respiratory disorders. Dr Alapati will talk about the pathway taken by Manx patients diagnosed with lung cancer, the types of treatment they can expect, and what the future holds for the treatment of lung cancer.’
The event, which is being supported by Celton Manx’s Recognition community programme, is at Douglas Golf Club on Monday, September 25, at 7.30. Admission is free. For more information contact Julie Stokes on 484950.
