There will be another chance for patients to sign up to get access to their own health information online in Ramsey as part of an intiative called ’Patient Access’.

The enrolment session will be on Saturday, March 25, from 11.30am to 12pm at SureStrike Bowling Alley, in Ramsey.

It is in addition to the session tomorrow, Thursday, March 23, at the Sea Terminal in Douglas between 11am and 1.30pm.

Staff from the government’s family practitioners’ team will be there to help members of the public with the few simple steps required to sign up.

Once registered, users of ’Patient Access’ will be able to view, book and cancel any routine GP appointments, order repeat medications, see details of immunisations, prescribed medications and allergies as well as details of all their interactions with their GP, including appointments, symptoms and diagnoses.

Anyone who wishes to sign up for Patient Access will need to be over 16 years old and bring photographic ID (driving licence or passport) with them.

Full details of all the enrolment sessions around the island can be found at www.gov.im/categories/health-and-wellbeing/.

Annmarie Cubbon, head of primary care commissioned services, said: ’We have already passed the important milestone of 10 per cent of the eligible population signing up for the service and I’m sure we are going to see a growing number people using the service as we move ahead.

’It’s worth keeping an eye on the website as we will be adding more sessions if this demand continues as it has done.’
