A quarter of all medical in-patients are having to wait more than year for admission to Noble’s Hospital.
Details of hospital waiting times were released in a written reply by Health Minister Kate Beecroft to a House of Keys question from Douglas North MHK David Ashford.
They show that 34.5 per cent of medical patients awaiting an inpatient planned admission are waiting up to 18 weeks, 39.7 per cent are waiting between 19 and 52 weeks and 25.8 per cent are waiting more than 53 weeks.
Some 53.7 per cent of surgical patients awaiting a planned inpatient admission are waiting up to 18 weeks, 31.6 per cent are waiting between 19 and 52 weeks, and 14.7 per cent are waiting more than a year.
By contrast, 80 per cent of gynaecology patients awaiting a planned inpatient admission are waiting up to 18 weeks, with the remaining 20 per cent waiting between 19 and 52 weeks.
The longest wait for a gynaecology planned inpatient admission is 35 weeks.
For outpatients, 54.8 per cent of medical patients are waiting up to 18 weeks, 25 per cent between 19 and 52 weeks and 20.2 per cent waiting more than 53 weeks.
Some 63.7 per cent of surgical patients are waiting up to 18 weeks, 26 per cent are waiting between 19 and 52 weeks and 10.3 per cent are waiting more than a year.
In the Women and Children’s Division, 91.8 per cent are waiting up to 18 weeks, 7.7 per cent area waiting between 19 and 52 weeks and 0.5 per cent are waiting longer than 53 weeks.
